Women are impacted the most...

  • Women carry the higher share of unpaid work.

  • Women have the highest proportion of low paid, zero-hours and part-time self employed work.

  • Women are the majority of health workers putting them at risk of exposure (especially during a pandemic).

  • Women are expected to lose their jobs at an accelerated rate, increasing financial dependency and vulnerability.

  • Women are more likely to be dependent on social security and are more likely to be in a volatile housing situation.

  • With the crisis impacting pension savings, this will impact women who are forecasted to be five times poorer at the age of retirement.
